Congratulations to the 6 Players enrolled in the FTPP that successfully made the New Jersey Olympic Development Program(ODP). This is a major accomplishment for these students. Playing ODP will give these players a chance to display their skills against the best teams from our region. The ODP program selects the best players in the state and creates teams that compete against other states. Once in the ODP Program students can go on and play for the Regional and or National Team.
5 of the 6 Universal Students that made the ODP have been members of the FTPP for the last 3 years ever since the program started in 2006. Christina Padovani, Maxine New, Zac Colton, Eddie Hartman and Karlee Spirit have been outstanding students and the selection to ODP has been well deserved. All Players have an amazing dedication to the game and focus every minute of every training session. Congratulations to first year student Nick Sample who also was selected.
All students called Universal on Saturday April 18th after the exciting news of their selection was mailed to their house. This is exciting news for everyone. The Academy is proud of these students.
Congratulations.
Christina Padovani
A powerhouse player Christina plays the game with passion. Her skills mixed in with her willingness to give 100% all the time, makes her a key and valuable student and player.
Maxine New
Maxine is an amazing talent. Maxine has low to the ground agility and effective ball handling skills. As big as a competitor as you will see at this age Maxine delivers often.
Zac Colton
Zac loves soccer. He is into learning about the all parts of the game including off the field stuff. Zac has spent many hours with the ball and this is evident as he gracefully gets upon his way of being a great soccer player and loving it.
Eddie Hartman
Eddie came to the program with the passion but with little confidence. Eddie has transformed his skills and his mind and gone on to became a super skilled effective player. His passion for the game is evident as he plays with a smile. Being a soccer player makes Eddie the happiest.
Karlee Spirit
Karlee a natural and smart student. Karlee is the unique "intelligent soccer player" type. A player that has gears when taking on her opponents and a player that plans moves to beat you.
Nick Sample
A Natural Talent. Loaded with a great base of skills. We expect Nick to excel at the Highest Level.
Congratulations also to McKenna Burns and Tyler Skwara. They made it to the final round of the selection process. This is a major accomplshment. We are sure they will be back to try out again and be selected in the future. John Verzi made it to the final stages but missed out due to injury.
